Short Film Ideas

My first and favourite idea for a shot film is a police interview about a robbery that went wrong causing all the participants to get arrested at the scene, but it will have a comical theme surrounding it, it will have few characters in it, each character will be incredibly different from each other. The main culprit for the robbery will have a strong twitch and tourettes, causing unexpected outbursts, which neither of the interviewing police officers respond well too, they question everything he says, asks inappropriate and irrelevant questions, the solicitor loses the plot at one point, causing his arrest. It all has an unorthodox theme.

My second idea is a funeral of a victim of youth knife crime. Showing the pain the family feel after a young loved one has been taken. I shall entitle this ''Not the only one that died''. It'll start off with a picture of the dead youth. Then a scene of the coffin being carried in, everyone crying, some singing, pretty much normal funeral scenes. Just showing the harm knives really do, not just to the victim but to everyone around the victim. I thought of this idea as it can be used for two purposes, educational and or awareness.

My third idea is a house party that goes out of control, causing absolute chaos, from everything from smashed windows to theft. All the characters will be in their teens, as the parents of the kids house it is have gone away, it's supposed to be a small casual event for a few close friends, it then turns into a full no-holds barred free party. Half way through the short film the girl who's house it is breaks down and leave's, unnoticed. The party continues all through the night, she then comes back, in tears, to find her home absolutely wrecked, full of passed out teenagers. She then broke down once again at state before her eyes. Close with a strong message of ''Use the brain you were given.''

I will research by looking at different aspects of writing and screenplays, for example looking at already published screenplays to see the techniques the writer has used, how this would of helped the writer to get their screenplay published. Anything that clearly would of helped this I will record in a new blog, to give me a better understanding.
